Our Story

Buddies Pet Care, founded by Sushmita and Arunava Majumdar, is a dedicated team of passionate pet-care professionals committed to delivering exceptional services to local communities and supporting charitable pet organizations. Our mission is to enhance the lives of pets and their families through top-quality care and compassion.

Having lived in the northern suburbs of Atlanta for over 14 years, the Majumdars' family journey with pets began with their young son Arya, who adored the "Buddies" movies (Air Buddies, Snow Buddies, Space Buddies...). This fondness led them to adopt a 6-week-old Golden Retriever puppy in 2014, whom they named Buddy. Buddy quickly became a cherished member of the family, sharing countless joyful moments from baseball games to leisurely walks and cozy evenings at home.

In June 2023, the Majumdars faced a heartbreaking challenge when Buddy was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma, a severe form of canine cancer. Despite a brave battle over several months, Buddy passed away on October 18, 2023. This experience deepened their understanding of the profound joy and comfort pets bring to our lives.

Over the years, Sushmita had cared for pets of neighbors and friends, including boarding, feeding, and walking dogs. This informal role evolved into a professional pet-sitting business in late 2023, with Sushmita receiving overwhelming support from a growing clientele of medium to large breed dogs. Arunava, with over 25 years of experience in corporate management, decided to channel his skills into their shared passion for pet care and community service.

Reflecting on their experiences, Sushmita and Arunava recognized the need for compassionate, reliable pet care solutions. They understand that pets are most comfortable in familiar environments, whether staying at home with drop-in visits or staying with trusted caregivers. They also know that pets require daily exercise, from backyard playtime to walks in the park, and that regular grooming is essential for their well-being. However, trips to the pet salon can be stressful and time-consuming.

In memory of their beloved Buddy, Sushmita and Arunava founded Buddies Pet Care to provide top-tier pet care services comprising pet sitting, dog walking and mobile pet spa services to the northern suburbs of Atlanta, ensuring that every pet receives the love, care and attention they deserve.
